Classic Bike June 2022
The June issue of Classic Bike celebrates 50 years since the arrival of Kawasaki’s seminal superbike, the Z1, with a road test of an original first-year machine as well as the Z1B on which wild-riding Graeme Crosby made his name in the late 1970s. There’s also the tale of how the Isle of Man TT lost its Grand Prix status, which ironically resulted in the most memorable TT ever. Restorations covered this month include a rare French BCR 500cc single found in a barn and returned to the road with the help of enlightened businesses, as well as a pair of Triumph Thunderbirds at opposite ends of the decrepitude scale. Bringing you right back to the present day, there’s the story of Norton’s new owners buying 55 classic examples of the marque to set up their own Heritage Collection.
