FHM SEPTEMBER ISSUE

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes ­ some even come in a half shell. This issue we celebrate all-time action heroes (Stallone's Expendables pg 107), real-life heroes (Chris Ryan hunts bin Laden on pg 102) and accidental heroes (pg 112). Then there's the Hollyoaks girls (pg 88) who Tarantino should surely cast as kick-ass heroes any day now.
Of course, if you want to be a real action hero, only one shape will really do ­ ripped. Which is why we challenged two writers to get a six-pack the Sly way (pg 82). But who wins ­ Rocky or Rambo?
Finally, we launch our search for a different sort of hero on pg 74. FHM Stand-Up Hero 2010 is a TV search for the UK's best new comedian and it's open to everyone. Go on ­ be a hero.
